From February 2-14th, customers can get three kawaii sushi Kit Kats at the Kit Kat chocolatory shop in the trendy Ginza neighborhood if you purchase 3000 yen worth of goodies.

Of course, we had to see these marvels with our own eyes along with everyone else. When you arrive to the recently open shop, it may seem like it’s your lucky day because there’s no one around, but a few more steps to the left of the building there is a steady, and long line up forming.

The shop workers will give you a number, and then it’s patience after that. And only 500 lucky customers will get their hands on the Kit Kat sushi so it’s best to get there in the morning.

Inspired by classic sushi flavours, at a quick glance you might think they were the real thing, even the packaging is in a traditional Japanese wrapping style made of Bamboo leaf

The first one is Maguro (tuna) using raspberry Kit Kat on puffed white chocolate rice.

The second is Uni (sea urchin) created with Hokkaido melon Kit Kat and mascarpone cheese wrapped in seaweed.

And last is Tamago (egg) made with pumpkin pudding flavored Kit Kat topped on puffed white rice.

YouTuber Chris from the Abroad in Japan channel tries them for us! Check out his review here:

Japan has had a craze for Kit Kats ever since they arrived to Japan. This is partially due to the fact that the name Kit Kat sounds a lot like “Kitto Katsu” (きっと勝つ)in Japanese which means “surely win”. Students would buy lots of Kit Kats before their exams so they could “surely win”, and the Kit Kat boom started from there. If you do find yourself at the Kit Kat Chocolatery shop, there are some must tries that are currently available to purchase to get your tastebuds excited!
